ADGA PB NUBIAN GOAT MILK HERDSHARES

A herdshare is where people buy shares of a milking animal or herd, and pay the farmer to care for the animals and milk them. As owners, the shareholders are entitled to the milk from their animals.

For one share, you would pay when you sign the contract; this is a refunded one-time cost that gives you part ownership of the herd. This technically "buys" you a share of the goat. You would also pay on that first day your monthly fee - this is sometimes called a boarding fee and pays us (the farmer) for taking care of, feeding, and milking your share of the goat. This entitles you milk each week as a dividend. Every four weeks, your boarding fee would be due. When the goats dry off (or after 4 months) you can sell the share back to us at purchase price and you won't owe anything else unless and until you want to sign up again next year or renew the contract.

Also, our herd share program requires that you have your own half-gallon mason jars. You can bring your own half-gallon jars or if you do not have half gallon ball jars there is a $5 deposit per jar.

We hope soon we will have staggered lactation so we will have milk year-round. But we're not quite at that point yet!

$30 - one-time cost that give you part ownership of the herd, we will by this back from you at the end of the contract. Boarding fees are $60 per month (every four weeks) per share. One share entitles you to 1 gallon (2 half gallon jars) of milk per week as a dividend.
